General Travel Tips to help Solo, Couple, or Group Travelers
Tip 1 – Leave a copy of your itinerary with someone at home.
Tip 2 – Don't carry unnecessary documents, and make copies of your credit cards, debit cards, passport and leave one copy at home and carry one copy with you in your money belt. This is a suggestion for vacation, holiday or business travel.
Tip 3 - Type out the name of your hotel and the address. Or get a business card with the address and carry it with you. This way if the taxi driver cannot understand you, you can show them the information.
Tip 4 - Take your cloth grocery bag with you. The one I use at home went to Paris this last trip. It folded up nicely into my little camera bag and whenever I stopped at the market, bought books, etc, I just pulled it out. The straps are long enough to put over your shoulder making it comfortable to carry, and hands free, so I could take photos. I will never travel without one again.!
Tip 5 - New "Paper" Products for the Traveler. Sheets of "paper" shaving cream, anti-bacterial hand soap, body wash, and laundry soap have hit the market to help travelers beat the 3 oz. airline limit for liquids and provide a small single serving cleaning product. They come in small plastic containers and can be used a "sheet" at a time. They are small enough to carry in your purse or shaving kit! They are great for backpackers, as well. The soaps dissolve in water and sea water.
Some owners request that you don't leave anything, including soaps, behind, so it would be helpful to have small quantities.
No more leaking containers or bar soap messes and no more security hassles. Various travel websites, carry a complete line of "paper" products so you can stock up for your next trip.
These products are scented. I have not found any unscented products, so because of allergies, I have not been able to try them.
Tip 6 - What can you do if your camera stops working? On a recent tour, several people had camera problems. My first suggestion was to turn it off and back on. If that didn't fix it, I suggested taking the batteries out and putting them back in and turning it on again. Third, check the storage device to see if it is full, and replace if necessary. Lastly, try new batteries.
