Atocha Train Station
The front of the historic Estacion de Atocha rebuilt in 1891 from the original, and extended in the 1980's.

The Palm Garden inside the train station is beautiful. It is filled with turtles that people have left behind as they departed Madrid.

The Calle de la Huertes, is a poets walk. The street has inlaid portions from famous poems.

Colorful buildings and a church found while strolling.
A true "walled" garden, this wall of plants has little holders for the plants. There is a platform that moves up and down the wall for the gardeners.

The Edificio Metropolis displays a French style of architecture.
The Plaza Mayor, a rectangular square that has held bullfights, executions, trials by the Inquisition and pageants. Today the square is lined with cafes and a few shops.

On the south side of the Puerta del Sol, in the sidewalk, you will find a symbol for Kilometer Zero, which is considered the center of Spain's road network.

A "bicycler" is on his way on the Madrid Bike Tour.
