The Exterior of the Mezquita
The exterior facade is backed by the Mezquita or the arcade around the Patio de los Naranjos. Entrances to the interior are through various archways.

The Torre del Alminar of the Mezquita
The bell tower is situated as part of one wall that surrounds the Patio de los Naranjos.

The Patio is filled with inlaid stones and planted with orange trees.

The Interior of the Mezquita
The Great Mosque evolved over the centuries, and has a variety of architectural features. My favorites are the red and white arches. In the 1500's a Cathedral was built within the complex. Part of the Mosque was destroyed to build it.

Cordoba Scenes
Walking through the winding streets, we saw a variety of decorative iron works covering windows, and walls of potted plants. One courtyard had a nice palm tree.

Under the arcade of the courtyard there were ceramics from a shop. A view of the courtyard.

A common cafe scene with jamon (cured ham) hanging from above.
